21.TheObjectClause宾语从句(一)
(1)宾语从句在复合句中作主句的宾语。宾语从句常由that引导,在口语中that常被省略。当主句中谓语动词是现在或将来时态时,从句中谓语动词不受主句中谓语动词时态的影响,按需要可以使用任何时态。如:
Shesays(that)sheworksfromMondaytoFriday.
她说她从周一至周五上班。(从句是一般现在时)
Shesays(that)shewillleaveamessageonhisdesk.
她说她要在他的桌子上留个便条。(从句是一般将来时)
(2)当主句的谓语是过去时态,从句中的时态一般用表示过去的某种时态。如:
Hesaidtherewerenoclassesyesterdayafternoon.
他说昨天下午他没有课。(从句是一般过去时)
Hesaid(that)hewasgoingtotakecareofthebaby.
他说他会去照看这个婴儿。(从句是过去将来时)
(3)当主句的谓语是过去时态,而宾语从句叙述的是某一客观真理(事实)时,宾语从句的时态则用一般现在时。如:
Theteachertoldus(that)nothingisdifficultifyouputyourheartintoit.
老师告诉我们世上无难事,只怕有心人。
Shesaid(that)herfatheristwenty-eightyearsolderthanher.
她说她父亲比她大二十八岁。
宾语从句(二)
由连接代词或连接副词引导的宾语从句。
引出名词性从句的连词whether和if,在引出宾语从句时,用法和意义相同。
但是if只能引出宾语从句和不在句首的主语从句,而whether除了引出宾语从句外,还可引出主语从句、表语从句和同位语从句。如:
Wedon’tknowwhether(if)itisright.我们不知道它是否正确。
Thequestioniswhethersheshoulddothat.
问题在于她是否应该做那件事。
Whetheritistrueremainsaquestion.是真是假还是个问题。
试比较:
当if从句处在主句之后作“是否”讲时,引出的是宾语从句。如:
Idon’tknowifitistrue.我不知道这事是否真实。
当if从句在主句之前作“如果”讲时,则引出状语从句。如:
IshallgothereifIhavetime.如果我有时间,我将到那儿去。

下面是使用宾语从句应注意的问题:
1.引导词that的省略。
在非正式场合下,that在引导宾语从句时可以省略。如:
Ithinks(that)youareright我认为你是对的。
Hesaid(that)hewouldcome.他说他会来。
但在正式场合,特别是表示建议要求的从句,一般不省略。
2.关于使用形式宾语“it”的问题。
如果宾语从句后面跟有宾语补语,要用形式宾语“it”来代替,而将从句放到补语的后面去。如:
Ihearditsaidthatthisschoolwasfoundedin1906.我听说这所学校建于1906年。
3.宾语从句的时态呼应。
如果主句的谓语是过去时,宾语从句的时态要按照时态呼应规则进行相应的调整。但若宾语从句表示的是客观真理或自然观念,其谓语时态则仍然用一般现在时。如:
Shesaidshehadleftherumbrellaintheclassroom.
她说她把伞忘在教室里了。
TheteachertoldusthatthePacificOceanisthelargestoceanintheworld.
老师告诉我们太平洋是世界上最大的海洋。
4.宾语从句否定意义的转移。
在think,believe,suppose等动词所引导的宾语中,如果从句谓语是否定的,一般要将否定词not转移至主句的谓语动词上去,而将从句的谓语动词改为肯定形式。如:
Idon’tthinkhehastimetoplaywithyou.我认为他没时间和你玩。
5.插入语疑问句。
当我们要对宾语从句的有关信息进行提问时,通常要用“插入语疑问句”。该结构以与所询问的信息有关的疑问词开头,主句的主谓成分变成插入语。如:
Ithinkthattheyhavecleanedtheclassroom.我想他们已打扫教室了。
Whatdoyouthinktheyhavedone?你认为他们做了什么?
6.宾语从句的替代。
在hope,believe,imagine,suppose,guess,think等动词以及“I’mafraid”等表达法的后面,可用so代替一个宾语从句,该宾语从句通常是上文提到的一件事。如:
Doyouthinkwewillhavegoodweather?你认为我们会遇上好天气吗?
Ihopeso.我希望如此。
其否定形式可用上述动词的否定式(hope除外),或者用“not”代替“so”。如:
Idon’tbelieveso.(或Ibelievenot.)我认为不是这样。

添加在词根前的构词部分叫前缀,它多数情况下不改变原词的词性。

常见的有以下几种:

1.im-,un-,in-,dis-等,表示否定。如:possible(可能的)→impossible(不可能的),load(装载)→unload(卸货),correct(正确的)→incorrect(不正确的),like(喜欢)→dislike(不喜欢)
