机器人是一种自动化机器。它被设计用来代替人类完成各种作业,并在很多方面扩展人类的能力。Robot这个词来源于捷克语robota,意思是“强迫劳动”。机器人技术在生活中的很多领域中使用,最普遍的是在制造业。
