1.学生准备:尺子、铅笔、白纸、小地球仪、剪刀、彩笔、胶水、橡皮泥或泡沫塑料、海绵、玻璃片。
2.教学器材:大地球仪、教学挂图(世界地形图、中国政区图、北京市地图、校园平面图)、投影仪或计算机、等高线模型。
3.教学课件:
计算机演示——①比例尺的三种表示形式、②经纬先的三种画法、③等高线的画法、④等高线的形状、⑤地形剖面图画法。

教师启发学生观察地图比例尺的大小、地图包括范围的大小、地图内容的详略。地图比例尺的大小不同,所反映出来的信息也不同。

(讲解)比较两幅地图比例尺的大小,就要将其转换成分数式,这时分子都是1,若分母大比例尺就小,分母小比例尺就大。世界地图的比例尺小,中国地图的比例尺大。
(学生活动)分析教材提供的“中国地图”“北京地图”,小组讨论这两幅图的比例尺、范围、内容有什么不同,并填写表格。
